Lana Del Rey is ready to release the heavily anticipated follow-up to her debut album. While her sophomore record Ultraviolence doesn't have a release date, Lana released the first song from the set today.
"West Coast" isn't "California Gurrls." Anyone expecting Lana to change up her sound to fit a top 40 model should kill those hopes right now. Instead, she's delivered one of her most organically produced songs to date. "West Coast" is the perfect song for a lazy day on the beach, complete with whizzing synths and funeral drums. The verses slink in and out until the chorus crashes like waves on rocks.
